Benburb Community Playgroup Mission Statement.
We aim as a playgroup to encourage, help and support your little caterpillars, giving them time, space and freedom to reach their full potential so that they may develop into independent, unique butterflies , spread their wings and fly.
Benburb Community playgroup is set in the beautiful, scenic surrounding of the village of Benburb; it is situated on the edge of a foot ball field, giving us plenty of space and a feeling of freedom. We are in the unique position of having a large outdoor space and wonderful walks thought the priory on our doorstep.
The playgroup opened on this site in June 2000 and has a waiting list which continues to grow. We are registered for 26 places and at present are full to capacity. We are registered and inspected by Armagh and Dungannon social services board and are funded by the Department of education for Northern Ireland.
We are committed to involving parents and carers at every level to ensure our children receive the best possible care and education in the early years.
We have excellence links with all the local primary school as well as other professional such as health visitors, speech therapists, occupational therapists etc.
We involve the local community with visits from local school teachers, the fire service, the ambulance service, the lolly pop person etc.
The 3 members of staff are all qualified to at least NVQ III in child care and Education and attend regular training in 1st Aid and child protection.
We believe children’s first experiences of playgroup influence their attitudes to education throughout their school lives and therefore it is essential that we make their experiences, positive ones.
